Surgeries

During your office visit, options regarding treatment of your condition will be thoroughly discussed. If Dr. Hanson recommends that you undergo a surgical procedure, you will be introduced to our surgical coordinator, Marsha Flowers. Marsha's direct phone number is 719-766-9002.

Dr. Hanson performs surgical procedures at St. Mary Corwin Medical Center, Parkview Medical Center and Parkwest Surgery Center. Marsha will coordinate the surgery date and time with you according to your requests.

Once the surgery is scheduled, we will contact your insurance company to verify eligibility and if pre-authorization is required. You will be responsible for verifying benefits from your insurance company.

Once your surgery is scheduled, an appointment will be made for a preoperative assessment at the hospital, where you will be interviewed by the anesthesiologist and have lab work, chest x-ray and EKG studies done (if required). You will also have an appointment with Dr. Hanson that same day for a preoperative history and physical.

Marsha will notify you by phone of the above arrangements, as well as send you a letter (mail or e-mail) with all of the details for your surgery.
